Sunday Blogbits – 5 Human Wonders of the World

Welcome to yet another edition of Sunday Blogbits. It’s late morning here and I write this as I wait for my breakfast. It has been cold here since many a days and this morning has been no different. Nevertheless, life moves on. Make sure to read to the end to not miss the 5 wonders.

I missed this one completely. Daniel from DailyBlogtips.com recently ran his last Bloggers Face-Off series. This time the participants were Amit Agarwal and Collis Ta’eed, the Tech Geeks. I am impressed by the way Collis and his sister have grown at their respective blogs. 10 months and this guy is already making $12,000/month. Mind blowing achievement guys.

Since Friday, I have been working on the outline for my second book. I have done pretty good research on the topic and so I am expecting to release it by the end of January. This book will be distributed free and like my first book will carry no promotional activity or affiliate links. I will let you in on the topic in another post later. I honestly advice you to signup to my RSS feed or email to stay updated. You definitely don’t want to miss something of quality, do you?

Have you planned for the next year? More importantly, what happened to this year’s goals you set? Did you achieve them? If so how many of them did you achieve? How many did you miss? Go through them and reflect upon. It will help you set new goals with renewed focus and mental energy. If you achieved something significant, do not forget to reward yourself and your loved ones. It is paramount to your success and is the key to your motivation.

John Cow after a long time has published a very good post related to SEO. His blog is in my Top 10 Useless Blog list. Maybe I have to start re-considering it. John, keep enlightening us with gems like this from your private barn.

I will be announcing the contest winners for the final week a bit later. Doreo.com has sponsored the 1 year web hosting prize. The surprise came on Thursday, when I received a mail from Frank saying they had setup a coupon code for 1 year hosting to be given to the winner. Thanks Frank. You really owe it to yourself to move to Doreo. Fantastic hosting is the least I can say.

Alright, let me show you the 5 Human wonders. Thanks to my father-in-law who sends me these gems from time to time, I am able to share them with you. So here goes:

The Millau Viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona and features the highest bridge piers ever constructed. The tallest is 240 meters high and the overall height is an impressive 336 meters, making this the highest bridge in the world.

First Air-Conditioned Bus Station opened in Dubai: As always, the Luxurious Arabs.

The Worlds fastest Elevator

Taipei 101, the world’s tallest building. The elevator runs at a top speed of 1,010 meters per minute when ascending (600 meters per minute on the way down), which works out ot 60.6 kilometers per hour. The Elevator can go from the 5th floor to the 89th floor in 39 seconds.

The World’s First All-glass Undersea Restaurant

15th April marks the day that the first ever all-glass undersea restaurant in the world opens its doors for business at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. It will sit five meters below the waves of the Indian Ocean , surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear acrylic offering diners 270-degrees of panoramic underwater views.

Created by MJ Murphy Ltd, a design consultancy based in New Zealand , Ithaa’s distinctive feature is the use of curved transparent acrylic walls and roof, similar to those used in aquarium attractions. “The fact that the entire restaurant except for the floor is made of clear acrylic makes this unique in the world,” continues Schieck, “We are currently planting a coral garden on the reef to add to the spectacular views of the rays, sharks and many colorful fish that live around the area.
