JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Speaker for the House of Rep. and chief of inquiry committee on Century Bank's case will have a consulting meeting with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), Financial Transaction Analysis and Report Center (PPATK), Bank Indonesia (BI), the Constitutional Court (MA), and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), at 2 pm, Friday, at the House of Rep. building, Jakarta.

The consulting, among which, is to ask for the MA's feedback for a legal umbrella for BPK so as to be able to trace Century Bank's bailout disbursement. "Besides the speaker of the House, and the committee chief, there will also be representatives from the fractions in the consulting," said committee chief Idrus Marham to Kompas.com, Friday.

As reported, the inquiry committee is asking the BPK for a second investigative audit, focusing on fund disbursement. Separately, the House's deputy speaker, Priyo Budi Santoso stated that the initiative to consult came from the House's speaker, considering the obstacle encountered by the inquiry committee in getting the fund disbursement data.

"The main subject of the consulting is about a legal umbrella for BPK to trace the fund disbursement. So far, the committee has had difficulties and isn't free to find the data regarding the fund disbursement. The PPATK, BI, and the Department of Finance also admitted having difficulties."

The MA is expected to attend the meeting today. According to Priyo, the reason is that the MA has inquired what kind of consulting the House expects. "We assured that it will be a regular consulting, without any intention to intervene in the court institution."

Meanwhile, committee member from PDI-P fraction, Eva Kusuma Sundari, stated that hopefully the MA would legitimize BPK's work to trace where the fund has been going to.

The committee also thinks that the PPATK has not been serious enough. "It's rather hard to count on the PPATK. They're not serious. I don't know why. The only hope is with the BPK, and for that we need an MA ruling to grant BPK the authority." (Inggried Dwi Wedhaswary/C17-09)
