BANTEN, KOMPAS.com - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono reveals some of the successes that the government has achieved in its 100-day program.

In his speech at the inauguration of the Labuan steam powered electric generator, in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, Thursday, the president promised a detailed explanation about the 100-day program that the government has done.

"There will be time soon for the government to explain the achievements in 100 days. It will really be explained which are well-done or not. The people can check throughout Indonesia whether the government has stated things as they are."

According to the report of the chairman of the Presidential Working Unit for Supervision and Management of Development, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, the president has mentioned that only a minor part of the 100-day program hasn't been achieved yet.

The president reminds the people to understand the 100-day program first before criticizing. He explained that the 100-day program is not something extraordinary, but it's the initial phase of the government to determine its direction for the next five years.

The 100-day program consists of 45 programs, 15 among which are priority ones, along with 129 action plans. The president hopes that the criticism will be relevant with the program designed by the government.

The head of state also explained the three things that the government wanted to achieve in 100 days, which are: to unclog the existing government programs, to quicken slow programs, and to rectify various regulations from government regulations to ministerial decrees.

"That's the 100-day program. If the success is to be gauged, then compare it with those 45 programs and 129 action plans."

President Yudhoyono dedicated a considerable length of his speech to explain about the government's 100-day program. He was even prepared with notes with detailed numbers.

Among the things already achieved by the government, he mentioned, is the forming of a working unit to eradicate court mafia, which has been given a two year deadline to purge the court institution from mafia practices.

Furthermore, the public services have been improved by shortening the bureaucracy chain so that a passport can be issued in four days and a business permit in 40 days.

The president listed that in the initial 100-day program the government has managed to construct 1,206 drinking water facilities in villages that are short on water, to start infrastructure construction in various areas, and to review the condition of all dams in the country.

In healthcare, in the initial 100-day program the government has increased the healthcare support for the people and revitalized health service centres, such as be granting operational funds for 241,000 healthcare posts throughout Indonesia. (mbonk/C17-09)
